Wound Management

Promoting the wound healing process is a primary concern   for many    health care practitioners. It can take 1-3 days for a closed wound to actually establish a seal. Infections usually occur in 3-6 days but may not appear for up to 30 days.

Restoration  of  integrity  to  injured  tissues  by  replacing  dead  tissue  with  viable tissue starts immediately after an injury, may continue for months or years and is essentially the same for all types of wounds.

Variations are the result  of differences in location, severity of the wound, extent of injury    to the tissues,  age    nutritional status, general health of the patient and available    resources for tissue regeneration.
